This diverse electoral appeal aligns with characteristics of traditional 'people's parties' known in German politics.

Immigration and asylum policies continue to be the primary concerns driving voter support for the AfD, directly contradicting Chancellor Friedrich Merz's claims that migration is no longer a decisive election issue.
