Andreas Schicker Confirms Continuation as Managing Director at TSG Hoffenheim

TSG Hoffenheim has announced that Andreas Schicker will remain as the club's managing director, putting to rest speculation about a potential move to VfL Wolfsburg. The 39-year-old Austrian, who joined Hoffenheim in October 2024, expressed gratitude for the interest from other clubs while affirming his commitment to Hoffenheim, stating that the shareholders have provided him with a clear perspective for future success.

Schicker's leadership has been praised by TSG stakeholder Dietmar Hopp, who credited him with restoring the team’s "TSG-DNA," resulting in a younger, more attractive style of play. Alongside Schicker, Tim Jost, who has served as managing director of marketing and sales since December 2024, will now also act as co-managing director, jointly steering the club's future development.

The decision not to move to Wolfsburg comes amid the latter's struggles in the Bundesliga, where the club currently sits in 15th place, following the dismissal of coach Paul Simonis and Sportdirektor Sebastian Schindzielorz. Wolfsburg's chairman, Sebastian Rudolph, had engaged in negotiations with Hoffenheim stakeholders regarding Schicker's potential transfer, indicating significant interest. However, Wolfsburg will now have to continue their search for a new Sportdirektor.

Schicker conveyed his appreciation of the off-field interest, saying it honors him and confirms the quality of Hoffenheim’s work. He emphasized the importance of a stable working environment to help the club achieve success moving forward. The co-leadership of Schicker and Jost signals Hoffenheim's intent to maintain momentum and strengthen its competitive position.
