Berlin Honors Leading Deep-Tech Innovators at 2026 Awards

On May 20, 2026, five Berlin-based companies were recognized with the Deep Tech Award for their groundbreaking technological innovations addressing pressing societal challenges. The awards ceremony, held during the Deep Tech Momentum conference at the Wilhelm Studios and attended by Berlin's Economics Senator Franziska Giffey and State Secretary Michael Biel, highlighted Berlin’s ambition to be Europe’s top innovation hub. The €50,000 prize was distributed equally among five winners across key deep-tech categories: Advanced Manufacturing, Bio- & Healthtech, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies, Photonics & Microelectronics, and Web3 & Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT). Winners included Endless Industries, noted for revolutionizing composite material manufacturing; MyoPax, pioneering novel cell therapies for muscle regeneration; Gretchen AI, developing AI-driven fact-checking solutions; Xavveo, specializing in advanced photonic radar sensors; and Decen Space, innovating decentralized satellite communications. Additionally, Six Robotics received a special "Deep Tech Award for Breakthrough Momentum," recognizing their autonomy software for unmanned aerial vehicle fleets. Senator Giffey emphasized the importance of bridging cutting-edge research with real-world applications, reinforcing Berlin's position within the European innovation ecosystem. The integration of the Deep Tech Award into the international Deep Tech Momentum conference aims to expand the award’s global profile and foster collaboration among European tech companies.
