Berlin's September Cultural Highlights: Gianna Nannini, Circa Circus, and More

Berlin is set to offer a vibrant array of cultural events as September unfolds. Italian singer Gianna Nannini will celebrate the 50th anniversary of her debut album with a concert at the Waldbühne on Saturday at 7 PM, with tickets starting at 86 Euros. Contemporary art lovers can experience Maurizio Cattelan's first major solo exhibition in Germany, titled 'Night', at the Neue Nationalgalerie, open Saturday and Sunday with 16 Euro entry.

Music enthusiasts can also enjoy the Icelandic band Sigur Rós as they conclude their orchestral tour at the Uber Eats Music Hall on Sunday and Monday, performing new songs alongside classics with a 41-piece orchestra; tickets begin at 210.50 Euros. Families are invited to the Konzerthaus for 'Magie der Töne', a program blending music and pantomime scheduled for Saturday at 11 AM and 3 PM, with tickets at 21 Euros. Additionally, the Deutsche Oper presents Stockhausen's unique 'Mittwoch aus Licht' on Sunday at 4 PM, featuring helicopter sounds and large choirs, with tickets ranging from 36 to 117 Euros.

Looking ahead, the acclaimed Australian circus company Circa will preview their new show "North of Now" at fabrik Potsdam from October 8 to 11, 2026, before its full adaptation debuts at Chamäleon Berlin in early 2027. The production will feature new air acrobatics crafted specifically for the Berlin stage. Circa, known globally for their contemporary circus arts, has performed to over two million people across more than 45 countries since their founding in 1986.
