Bundesliga Teams Showcase Mixed Results in Preseason Test Matches Ahead of 2026-27 Season

As the 2026-27 Bundesliga season approaches, clubs are intensifying their preparations with a series of preseason test matches revealing varied fortunes and player lineups.

VfB Stuttgart continued their strong preseason form by securing a commanding 5-0 victory against amateur side FSV Hollenbach. The Stuttgart goals came from Tiago Tomás (24'), Chris Führich (42'), Maximilian Mittelstädt (51'), Jovan Milosevic (59'), and Nikolas Nartey (64'). Despite the convincing win, the team fielded a squad missing several key players who are currently competing in the World Cup in North America, including German internationals Deniz Undav, Jamie Leweling, and Angelo Stiller.

On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund suffered a setback after falling 1-2 to Fortuna Düsseldorf in front of 23,300 spectators at the Düsseldorfer Arena. Mathis Albert gave Dortmund an early lead in the 20th minute, but Düsseldorf responded with goals from Fabian Schleusener (50') and Anas Slimani (79') to secure the win.
