e-Mobility Deutschland e.V. Established to Boost Germany's Charging Infrastructure

A new association, e-Mobility Deutschland e.V., has been founded to represent Germany's charging infrastructure companies and coordinate their interests as they engage with political and regulatory frameworks. Founding members include major players such as ABB E-mobility, Shell, Fastned, Aral pulse, Ionity, and others. The association aims to actively shape the expansion of charging infrastructure in Germany by serving as a platform for dialogue among industry leaders, municipalities, and authorities.

Linda Boll from Fastned has been elected chairperson, with Alexander Junge of Aral AG serving as deputy chair. Both leaders represent companies that have invested heavily in public charging points over recent years. The organization will focus on advocacy, aiming to influence pending regulatory decisions expected by 2026, which are critical for investment security and planning in the e-mobility sector.

Headquartered in Berlin, the association is positioned to strengthen communication with ministries and public entities while also informing the wider public about the requirements for a comprehensive and interoperable charging network. It acknowledges the complexity of expanding fast charging infrastructure across municipal, regional, and national levels and seeks to foster coordination to address these challenges. Chairperson Boll emphasized the importance of bringing the industry's perspective into political discussions during a time when regulatory frameworks are being reassessed, potentially impacting the future of e-mobility in Germany.
