Elnet, a prominent lobbying and business facilitation organization in Germany, has come under increased scrutiny for its funding sources and close connections to defense companies influencing German politics. In 2024, Elnet reported a lobbying budget exceeding one million euros, supported by public funds ranging from 190,000 to 230,000 euros from federal and state governments. However, many private donations remain undisclosed, raising transparency concerns.

Significantly, Elnet organized a trip for German politicians to meet with Israeli defense firms such as Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI), which itself donated to Elnet in 2024. German health company Novocure also made a notable contribution of up to 20,000 euros, coinciding with Elnet's health-oriented events.

The majority of Elnet's financial backing stems from its American affiliate, Friends of Elnet (Felnet), which raised over $9.2 million in 2023, including large donations from figures like Bernie Marcus. Felnet reportedly offers exclusive access to decision-makers in exchange for donations, though Elnet asserts contributions are given without guarantees of direct benefits.
