Empowering Women in Local Politics: New Coaching and Events Boost Female Participation in Haßberge

The Volkshochschule Landkreis Haßberge (VHS), together with equality officer Christine Stühler and political trainer Johanna Bamberg-Reinwand, launched a free group coaching program designed for politically interested women. This program, open to all regardless of party affiliation, supports those considering or seeking municipal political mandates. The next session is set for February 7, 2026, at the Landratsamt Haßberge in Haßfurt, with registration through the VHS required.

Christine Stühler emphasizes the critical need for more women in politics, noting that their perspectives significantly enhance committee work and stressing the aim of achieving balanced representation. Following a successful networking event on January 21, 2026, which drew nearly 20 politically inclined women, the next gathering is planned for April 14, 2026, at the town hall in Wonfurt, hosted by Daniela Lang, the region's youngest mayor. This meeting particularly encourages newly elected female officials from the upcoming municipal elections on March 8, 2026, to connect and collaborate.
