Football Inclusion Days 2026 to Celebrate Handicap Football Diversity in Essen

From September 11 to 13, 2026, Essen will host the Football Inclusion Days organized by the DFB-Stiftung Sepp Herberger in cooperation with the city of Essen, the Football Association Niederrhein (FVN), Rot-Weiss Essen, and other partners. The event takes place at Kennedyplatz in a pop-up stadium seating over 2,500 spectators and is dedicated to showcasing the vibrant diversity of handicap football.

Under the motto "With football into the center of society," the Inclusion Days aim to integrate athletes with and without disabilities from across Germany through various tournaments, including competitions for athletes with intellectual disabilities and inclusion teams. A highlight will be the final match day of the Blind Football Bundesliga on Saturday, featuring the award ceremony for the German champion.

The event also offers inclusive activities for spectators and a networking opportunity, striving to foster a more inclusive culture within local sports clubs and the city. Notably, admission to all events is free, reinforcing the commitment to social integration and accessibility.
