Germany is intensifying its efforts to strengthen protections against sexualized violence, particularly in digital spaces. The debate gained significant momentum following public accusations by actress Collien Fernandes against her ex-husband Christian Ulmen, which prompted Federal Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig to announce plans to tighten criminal laws regarding digital violence.

During a recent government questioning session in the Bundestag, Minister Hubig emphasized the need for enhanced legal measures against sexualized digital offenses, including the misuse of deepfake technology. She noted existing penalties vary by offense, signaling that legislative improvement is necessary to better protect victims.
