Germany Hosts Mental Health Awareness Events in October and November 2026

Germany is spotlighting mental health awareness this fall through a series of well-organized events designed to foster understanding, prevention, and community support. Notably, Schwerin will host an action week dedicated to mental health from October 9 to 16, 2026. This initiative aims to create connections between individuals with and without mental health challenges, promoting empathy and community solidarity.

Following this, the 19th Memminger Gesundheitstage will take place on November 7-8, 2026, offering a comprehensive health-focused agenda. This prominent event features over 60 booths and more than 15 expert lectures covering a range of health topics, including mental health. Memmingen’s Mayor Jan Rothenbacher emphasized the event's preventive health significance, inviting residents to actively engage with their well-being.

A highlight of the Memminger Gesundheitstage is ski jumping legend Sven Hannawald’s keynote presentation where he will candidly discuss mental health and share his personal battle with burnout. Attendees will have the opportunity for photos and autographs with Hannawald. The event also includes sports demonstrations, children’s activities, and interactive health experiences like VR relaxation sessions and a nutrition exhibition organized by AOK.

Klinikum Memmingen will contribute by exhibiting clinical health services, featuring educational models of the lumbar and cervical spine. The program opens with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Christoph Dehner on modern accident surgery. A health quiz will offer a chance to win a year-long Cineplex membership, further engaging visitors.

Organized collaboratively by the city of Memmingen, Klinikum Memmingen, AOK Memmingen-Unterallgäu, and other health organizations, the Gesundheitstage is free to attend and runs from 9:30 AM to 5 PM, exemplifying comprehensive community efforts to promote mental and physical health awareness throughout Germany this October and November.
