Health and Wellness in Germany: Successful Bad Marienberg Fair and Upcoming Health Congress in Wiesbaden

The 19th health fair in Bad Marienberg took place on February 22, 2026, attracting numerous visitors to the Schulzentrum Forum. Looking ahead, the 8th Congress Zukunft Gesundheit will be held on March 3-4, 2026, in Wiesbaden, addressing critical healthcare reform issues. This week, the Bundestag is set to discuss and vote on the Krankenhausreformanpassungsgesetz (KHAG), with the Bundesrat scheduled to address the law either on March 6 or 27. However, the states are expected to call for a mediation committee due to ongoing disputes over staffing, care personnel limits, and financing structures. Internal SPD discussions hint at a potential failure of KHAG, a politically sensitive prospect given upcoming elections. The congress will also host a spring reception by Klinikverbund Hessen e. V. to facilitate networking among around 200 healthcare sector stakeholders.
