Key Bundesliga Figures Secure Futures with Contract Extensions

In a significant development for Bundesliga clubs, two important personnel from 1. FC Union and 1. FC Nürnberg have extended their contracts, signaling stability and future plans.

Steffen Baumgart, head coach of 1. FC Union, has extended his contract until June 2028. Baumgart took over the team amid a crisis in January 2025, when they had endured nine winless games and hovered just above the relegation zone. Since then, he has revitalized the team, leading them to a respectable 9th place in the Bundesliga. Notable results under his leadership include a 4:3 victory over Frankfurt, a 2:2 draw against Bayern Munich, and a 3:1 win against Leipzig. Union’s management, including manager Horst Heldt, praises Baumgart’s leadership qualities and clear football philosophy, emphasizing the cohesion and consistency he has fostered.
