The German Football Association (DFB) has secured the future of its women's national team by extending head coach Christian Wück's contract until August 2029. This long-term commitment aims to provide stability ahead of crucial upcoming tournaments, including the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and the 2029 European Championship in Germany—contingent on qualification. Wück, who has a strong track record including leading the German U17 men's team to European and World titles in 2023, emphasized his focus on player development and bold, confident football. Club managing director Michael Ströll expressed satisfaction with Gouweleeuw’s continued commitment, emphasizing the defender's decade-long association with Augsburg and his potential to remain involved with the club beyond his playing days.
