Podolski began his professional career with 1. FC Köln in 2003, quickly becoming a beloved cult figure. Over the years, he played for several top-tier clubs including FC Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Inter Milan, and Galatasaray, among others. During his stint with Bayern Munich in 2008, he enjoyed significant success by winning both the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles.

Internationally, Podolski made his debut for the German national team in 2004 and was a key member of the World Cup-winning squad in 2014.
