October 2025: Nationwide Mental Health Awareness Events Across Germany

In October 2025, Germany is set to host several nationwide events dedicated to raising awareness about mental health, with initiatives aimed at fostering resilience and encouraging open discussions. The "Woche der seelischen Gesundheit", or Mental Health Week, will take place in various regions starting from October 6, showcasing a comprehensive program aimed at different demographics and encouraging community participation.

From October 6 to 10, Brandenburg an der Havel will kick off its Mental Health Week with a traveling exhibition titled "Wie geht's?" which targets children's and teenagers' mental health issues. This event will showcase artworks created by individuals experiencing mental health challenges and features interactive stands and information booths provided by local mental health organizations. The exhibition will begin at the Gesundheitszentrum and transition to the Universitätsklinikum on October 7, emphasizing community engagement and education on mental health services.

In addition to the events in Brandenburg, the nationwide action week focuses on the theme "Lass Zuversicht wachsen – Psychisch stark in die Zukunft" (Let Hope Grow – Mentally Strong into the Future), promoting mental well-being for all age groups. Planned activities include lectures, workshops, and counseling sessions designed to provide practical advice and a supportive environment for community members. Organizers, including representatives from Gesundheitsregionplus and other local health agencies, encourage attendees to participate to gain insights and share experiences in these workshops.

Following that, from October 10 to 26, the Community Psychiatric Association in Freiburg will lead the World Week for Mental Health under the theme "Soul coming of age – Seele wird erwachsen." This initiative will focus on addressing the needs of children, adolescents, and young adults through over 30 events, further promoting resilience and preventive measures related to mental well-being.

Through these overlapping events, Germany aims to deepen the public's understanding of mental health issues and support individuals in exploring positive pathways toward mental resilience in everyday life. Lasting infrastructural support and ongoing conversation are hoped to emerge from these weeks, fostering long-term improvements in community mental health awareness and care.
