The rigorous selection process evaluated over 100,000 companies against strict economic criteria including employment stability, liquidity, creditworthiness, and overall financial resilience. Ultimately, 511 companies passed these stringent standards to make the list, recognized for strong order backlogs and reliable payment behavior.
Taking the crown for the most crisis-proof company in Germany in 2026 is Steiner-Optik GmbH from Bayreuth. Founded in 1947, Steiner-Optik employs approximately 150 people and manufactures advanced optical devices widely used in both civilian markets and by government and military clients in more than 80 countries. Michael Rost, Steiner-Optik’s General Manager, celebrated the award as a testament to his team’s dedication and performance.
