Thousands Rally in Berlin and Hamburg Supporting Collien Fernandes Against Digital and Sexual Violence

In March 2026, public demonstrations in Berlin and Hamburg have drawn thousands to protest digital and sexual violence against women, galvanized by allegations from actress and TV presenter Collien Fernandes against her ex-husband, Christian Ulmen. Approximately 6,700 people gathered in Berlin at Brandenburg Gate, a turnout far exceeding the initially expected 500 participants. Organized by the recently formed group 'Feminist Fight Club!,' the protest sought to raise awareness about systemic violence disproportionately affecting women and demand stronger protections.

Fernandes has accused Ulmen of identity theft, bodily harm, severe threats, psychological violence, defamation, and the creation of manipulated pornographic images. She has formally filed charges in Spain and highlighted the inadequacy of current German legal protections for victims of digital and sexual violence. Ulmen’s lawyer has threatened legal action against media reporting these allegations, but Ulmen himself has not publicly responded.

Following Berlin’s rally, a solidarity demonstration in Hamburg is scheduled at Rathausmarkt, championed by Fernandes in her birth city. Organized by SPD parliament member Annika Urbanski and supported by climate activist Luisa Neubauer, this event aims to pressure lawmakers for clearer legislation and effective enforcement against sexual violence offenders. Urbanski stressed the need for unity and visibility in the fight against such abuses.

Notable public figures, including former Green Party leader Ricarda Lang and model Marie Nasemann, joined the Berlin event in endorsing Fernandes’s courage and amplifying the call to end violence and victimization of women. Nasemann urged recognition of these violent acts as symptoms of a flawed system protecting perpetrators while leaving women vulnerable.
