SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Network Celebrates 35 Years with Awards for School-Business Vocational Collaborations

The SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT network in Thüringen celebrated its 35th anniversary in December 2025 with a conference held at WAGO GmbH & Co. KG in Sondershausen. The event drew representatives from regional economic development agencies and focused on enhancing vocational orientation, smoothing transitions from school to work, and securing long-term skilled labor. Various expert talks and discussion rounds facilitated the exchange of best practices and new forms of cooperation between schools and businesses.

A highlight was the awarding of the "SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Prize – Making Engagement Visible," which honors outstanding dedication in connecting education and business. Thüringische Weidmüller GmbH received recognition for its sustained commitment to vocational orientation in Wartburgkreis. Additionally, DMG MORI Seebach GmbH and Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium Ruhla were acknowledged for their exemplary cooperation, providing students with practical career insights. MES GmbH, applauded for its contributions to the SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT network in Hessen, will extend its support to the Wartburgkreis efforts from next year onwards.

These awards underscore the importance of collaboration among schools, companies, and economic development bodies in improving vocational education and addressing skilled labor needs in the region. The event highlighted that sustained cooperation and shared commitment are key drivers for successful vocational orientation and workforce development in Thüringen.
